Lies, a Shelter for the Human Soul

 Lies, a Shelter for the Human Soul

Author: Gouya Roshan (Güya Aydın )

Of course, not every lie is wicked;

Lies are sometimes even a refuge for a weary soul.
In a world where truth smells of blood;
Where children are sold, freedom is murdered,
And justice is merely a forgotten word in resolutions.
People turn to lies;
Not out of ignorance, but out of exhaustion.
Because lies are colorful and shiny,
They promise joy.
They temporarily silence the pain.
While truth, naked and cold,
Stands bitterly in a corner.
Few dare to look it in the eye.
That’s why people sometimes pretend to sleep in order to survive
And sometimes, that sleep is nothing but a “lie.”
A lie so that the soul and mind can endure a little longer. Perhaps dawn is near.
Because lies are imaginary balms for the wounds of the soul.
But let us not forget: no matter how comforting, lies are temporary and deceptive.
They destroy trust and leave behind broken relationships and shattered hearts.
And they are a curtain drawn over the truth.
If only the world were bright and just enough that people wouldn’t have to lie to survive.
