Judaism vs. Zionism: The Truth That Must Be Clarified
Today, many people still do not understand the difference between Judaism and Zionism, and mistakenly think these two terms are synonymous. The reality is different: Judaism is a divine religion, while Zionism is a political and expansionist project with no connection to true faith.
Judaism: A Divine and Respected Religion
Judaism is the religion of the great prophet Moses (peace be upon him), who, along with his brother Aaron (peace be upon him), was sent to guide the people. Just as Jesus (peace be upon him) and Muhammad (peace be upon him) are honored by God, Moses (peace be upon him) is also greatly respected. The Quran repeatedly mentions his greatness. Therefore, authentic Judaism, like Islam and Christianity, is a monotheistic religion valued by God.
Throughout history, Jews have lived not only in the Holy Land but also in various countries:
Iran: Jews have lived alongside Muslims and other religions for thousands of years and remain part of Iran’s cultural fabric.
Iraq and Arab lands: For centuries, Jews lived in Baghdad, Damascus, and Cairo, contributing to the economy and culture.
Europe: Despite hardships and discrimination, Jews played important roles in science, arts, and trade.
Other parts of the world: Today, millions of Jews live in the U.S., Russia, Latin America, and elsewhere without needing a separate ethnic-national state.
This historical presence shows that Judaism is inherently a global religion and can coexist peacefully with other faiths.
Zionism: A Political and Oppressive Deviation
Zionism is neither a religion nor a faith; it is a political movement formed in the 19th century with the goal of establishing a nationalist state based on supremacy. It has used the name of Judaism to justify occupation and oppression, while being alien to authentic Judaism.
Even in the time of Moses (peace be upon him), there were such corrupt followers who harassed the prophet, mistreated his brother Aaron, and worshiped the Golden Calf instead of obeying God. The Quran notes that such people will corrupt the earth twice; many scholars believe that Zionism today represents this second corruption.
Judaism ≠ Zionism
Judaism: Divine religion, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), honored by God.
Zionism: A political-colonial movement that even opposes faithful Jews who stand against oppression.
Thus, opposing Zionism is not opposing Judaism or Jews. We oppose all forms of anti-Semitism because Judaism is a divine religion. At the same time, we have a duty to expose Zionism as an oppressive ideology and a major cause of bloodshed in the region.
Today, it is more important than ever to recognize:
Many Jews around the world themselves oppose Zionism because faith cannot coexist with oppression and supremacy.
Zionism continues the same corrupt movement that opposed the prophets in the time of Moses (peace be upon him).
The real struggle is not between Muslims and Jews, but between faithful, justice-seeking humans and oppressive Zionism.
