If Satan Did Not Exist, Would Humans Still Si n? When people talk about sin, they often instinctively think of Satan, as if every wrongdoing committed by a person bears his mark. But suppose Satan had never been created. Would the world have become a pure and sinless place? Or would humanity still have found its way to sin even without Satan? In Islam, Satan has no power to force anyone to commit sin. He can only whisper temptations, while the final decision always belongs to the individual. The Qur’an repeatedly emphasizes that Satan cannot compel anyone to do wrong; he merely invites, and it is the person who chooses either to accept or reject that invitation. If this is true, then the root of sin must be sought elsewhere.
