Politics Built Walls Between People When a child is killed in Europe, the world mourns. The media report on it for days, politicians issue statements, and public opinion is stirred. But when thousands of children lose their lives beneath the rubble of war in the Middle East, Africa, or other predominantly Muslim countries, a disappointing silence prevails across large parts of the world—as if some human lives carry greater news value than others. This difference raises a profound question before the conscience of humanity: Are all human lives equal in value, or does politics determine their worth?
